High-Voltage Power Line Maintenance – May 2025

Throughout the month of May, residents in the Muskegon area may notice a low-flying helicopter in the skies. This activity is part of scheduled work by ITC Holdings, the company responsible for maintaining high-voltage transmission lines in our region.

The helicopter will be used to perform routine inspections and maintenance, including the replacement of the very top wire on select power lines. These efforts help ensure the continued safety and reliability of the electric grid.

There is no need for concern —

✅ No road closures will take place
✅ All work is being completed by air and will not impact daily routines
