Parking Guidelines for Hartshorn Park & Launch Ramp

July 15, 2025

Muskegon, MI – As activity increases at Hartshorn Park and Launch Ramp this summer, the City of Muskegon is asking all visitors to follow the posted parking guidelines designed to ensure safe, organized access for pedestrians, bikers, cars and vehicles towing boat trailers.

Clear directional signage is now in place throughout the park to guide drivers along appropriate routes and into the correct parking areas. See below:

Vehicles WITHOUT Trailers:

  • Enter via Adelaide Boulevard off West Western Avenue.
  • Follow the drive north and park in the yellow-designated parking area (as marked by signage).
  • Exit the same way—back down Adelaide Blvd to Western Ave.
  • Do not proceed beyond the “Trailers Only Beyond This Point” signage.

Vehicles WITH Trailers:

  • Also enter via Adelaide Boulevard off West Western Avenue.
  • Launch boat.
  • Continue past the “Trailers Only Beyond This Point” signage and follow the marked blue route to the designated trailer parking area.
  • Exit via one of two ways:
  • Follow the one-way trailer exit past Fricano’s, connecting to West Western Ave.
  • Back down Adelaide Blvd to West Western Ave.

🚫 Important Reminders:

  • Cars without trailers are not allowed in trailer-only areas or to use the trailer exit near Fricano’s.
  • Do not cut through the private parking lot behind Fricano’s—this is not a public route. Please stick to the signed path and route shown on the city’s official parking map.
  • All drivers are expected to follow posted signage to avoid traffic conflicts and ensure smooth public access.

These parking guidelines are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain a safe, welcoming environment at one of Muskegon’s most popular waterfront destinations.
