Press Release Fatal Crash

Monday, August 25, 2025 – First Responders of the Muskegon Public Safety Division were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle crash near Getty Street and Keating Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Bystanders had removed the driver, a 72-year-old male, from the vehicle before emergency personnel arrived. The driver was unresponsive at the scene.

First responders immediately initiated lifesaving measures; however, despite their efforts, they were unable to revive him.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Muskegon Public Safety Division extends its deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragic incident.
