Press Release Vehicle Accident

August 7, 2025

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at approximately 9:00 pm. Officers of the Muskegon Police Department responded to a vehicle accident in the area of Apple Avenue and Spring Street.

When officers arrived, they found that a motorcycle traveling west on Apple Avenue and a passenger car turning onto Apple from Spring Street collided.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old male, was found unresponsive. Despite lifesaving efforts by the first responders, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was a 22-year-old female who was uninjured in the crash. She was arrested at the scene. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The Muskegon Department of Public Safety wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone involved in this tragedy.
