Request for Proposal (RFP) for Tree Removal on Residential Lots
Requested Services
To fell trees and shrubs and remove stumps from 17 residential lots in the City of Muskegon. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and disposal of felled trees and stumps from the sites. All trees, shrubs, and stumps must be felled and removed from each site by October 20. A contract will be issued to the successful bidder at the September 24 City Commission meeting.
Project Location and Specifics
There are 17 separate parcels of land with various trees and shrubs that need to be removed. All lots are owned by the City of Muskegon and will be developed for housing. Trees and shrubs for removal have been marked with an orange X. Interested parties may visit the lots to survey the land and take an inventory. The lots include:

Contractor Qualifications
- Proof of applicable licenses and certifications.
- Proof of insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, naming City of Muskegon as additional insured.
Requirements for Proposal
The proposal submission will include:
- A brief history of the company and experience in similar projects.
- An inventory of the trees/shrubs to be removed from each site.
- The total cost of the project which will include the felling of trees/shrubs, removal of stumps, and removal of all debris from the sites.
- A timeline of when the project will begin and end.
- Proof of insurance as stated above.
Contract and Award Process and Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated and reviewed by staff, based upon the criteria required in the RFP and how well the response to the criteria meets or exceeds the services required.

Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 by 2:00 p.m.
Sealed bid (hard copy proposal packet), according to the criteria listed above, need to be delivered to the address below. Our hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Monday thru Thursday. No emailed bids or late bids will be accepted.
